Imagine School Services (IS) provides virtual instruction for grades 6–12 using the Imagine Learning curriculum (Imagine Edgenuity). We also offer IS implementations that utilize electives through a partnership with eDynamic Learning.
Roles & responsibilities
Here is a summary of the Roles and Responsibilities for implementing a virtual program with Imagine Learning. Each partnership is unique, so it is important to think of these as a guide to help define roles for districts and also to share with them the support available from Imagine Learning.
Secondary model
Imagine Learning offers multiple layers of support for partner schools and students to ensure the success of virtual programs. Partners implement Imagine Learning IS in a variety of ways, but we work hard to ensure that each is successful at meeting unique program goals.
Note
The On-Site Mentor is an employee of the partner school that is responsible for working with virtual students and their families. At times this is a dedicated person in the school, but can also be teachers, guidance counselors, principals, etc. The mentor is also a point of contact for our Virtual Teachers, so it is crucial that we train mentors will in our systems.
6–12 curriculum
Imagine Learning offers credit recovery and initial credit courses through their Imagine Edgenuity platform (referred to as the LMS). There are a variety of National Courses available.
Modifying curriculum
There are multiple ways to adjust the curriculum:
- State-specific versions exist for many courses.
- Our Curriculum Accountability and Attainment department in IS can do custom course requests before students are enrolled. They have a timeline and process for submitting these requests each semester. This is meant for large-scale changes that all students will be receiving. Some examples of projects in the past include courses for use in a gifted & talented program, residential treatment programs, etc.
- Teachers can customize on the student level and will do so in support of IEP/504 requirements, enrichment opportunities, and also for remediation. These changes are done on a student-by-student basis.
