Activity Types Overview

Activity Name Description Grading
Warm up Brief video series to engage students and introduce topic. Computer
Vocabulary Opportunity for students to learn and practice vocabulary words in lessons.
Instruction/Lecture The bulk of the content is found here. These videos also may include informal practice items for students.
Assignment/Practice Activities vary from multiple choice, short answer, matching, etc. with intent to provide mastery practice. Computer (teacher should monitor for mastery and grading accuracy)
Journals/Online Content/eResources Writing and reflection activities for students to relate their learning. These are auto-graded by the computer based on keywords.
Short Writing These are short answer prompts asking students to share about 

Teacher

Essays Prewriting, drafting and revising activities are used to scaffold learning. Teachers can refer to these activities to provide feedback. The only graded piece is the final essay or revised draft.
Projects These activities may include labs, multimedia presentations, timelines, performance tasks, text questions, lab questions, etc.
Quiz Typically multiple choice, 10-15 question assessments. The pool of questions that are randomly pulled from can be found in the LMS course structures. Computer
Unit Test/Cumulative Exam Review These are activities that proceed the unit test or cumulative exam. After a student completes this activity, they will not be able to move on until the teacher reviews and unlocks the assessment.
Unit Test Typically multiple choice, 20-40 question assessments. The pool of questions that are randomly pulled from can be found in the LMS course structures. Computer (teacher must ‘unlock’ activity based on the students mastery)

Cumulative Exam Typically multiple choice, 25-50 question assessments. The pool of questions that are randomly pulled from can be found in the LMS course structures.
