Templates for Out of Office Messages in SIS

Regardless of the reason for the automatic reply message, educators should include:

  • Greeting
  • Dates of absence
  • Salutation
  • Signature

Depending on the purpose of the out of office, the automatic reply message may need additional information.

Example A - Company Closure

For a company closure, this type of message could be used:

Greetings,

Due to a company-wide holiday, I will be away from my desk on DATE. I will return to my desk on DATE.

Thank you for your flexibility and patience in my absence.

Sincerely,

Example B - Personal Leave

For personal leave of any kind, this type of message could be used:

Greetings,

I will be away from my desk on DATE. I will return to my desk on DATE. During my absence, please reach out to Insert substitute teacher name at Insert contact information of Sub with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your flexibility and patience in my absence.
